Moving help
I have been an independent mover for several years now.  To find out more information try http://movinghelp.emove.com/ and look for 'Cautious, experienced mover, Chico'

This is now listed under our services but is not affiliated with pet related services or Pitts Pack Leading.

You'll be happy to know we've never dropped or broken anything of our clients'.  The heaviest item we've lifted is a 900 lb safe up three flights of stairs.  We are well prepared for the job and our prices are affordable compared to most professional movers.

We reserve the right to refuse service.

In Development
I am working on a presentation to propose to Chico Unified School District regarding awareness for children about dogs and bites.

My goal is to educate children on what's appropriate touch and what to do if approached by a stray dog or bitten.  I would like to include take-home handouts for parents that will include Pack Rules (for families with dogs), Dogs and Children, and properly introducing an infant into a new home that has a dog.

If you are a teacher or parent volunteer in a classroom and would be interested in having me speak, please email me

Dog Scout membership
Please, click on this link if you are interested in a dog scout membership.  Once you have completed the checkout, contact me with your information so I can contact DSA and have you filed under the local troop.

Dog Scouts here is not designed for Pitts Pack Leading to profit in any way, it is merely the temporary connection hub.  I hope that our organization grows into a group of adventurous but responsible pet owners.  As troop leader and a trainer, I want to be a fun and free resource for all members.

Currently I'm looking for a place to hold weekly meetings in case of rain.

Also if anyone has agility, weight pull, or other types of dog training equipment, please let me know if you are interested in renting out your facilities for particular events I am interested in running.

Dog Scouts FAQ Update
I have been asked about Dog Scouts more lately so I thought I would give you an update.

So far I'm in the works of being assigned a troop number once I finish collecting dues from the founding members.

No date scheduled for a new member orientation yet.

Dogs are not required to be spayed/neutered to join dog scouts.

Puppy update
The puppies have opened their eyes and are crawling well.  The puppy fuzz is starting to pass as they transform over the next few weeks into their true colors.  Their nails have been clipped.

All is well!

Viewing and pickup date set

Interested buyers will be able to view the litter on appointment starting December 8th, 2007.

The earliest possible pickup date is Christmas Eve.  On Friday, December 28th, puppies will be eight weeks.

Please be advised no matter when you select any dog from anywhere, it should be brought to a veterinarian within 48 hours.  Please see our purchase agreement or consult your vet for more details.

Ear cropping
Originally having dew claws removed, ears cropped, and tail docked were preventative measures for the dog's health.  It evolved into the look and style over the years for many breeds.

Ear cropping is not required for UKC events, nor is it penalized.  I personally feel ear cropping, if done at all, should be done as early as possible rather than between 8-16 weeks.

Therefore, if a puppy is paid for in full before eight weeks (Dec. 28th, '07), it will be included in the price.

This is a courtesy I extend to you so that you may save money and the dog may save pain.

Apology
About section was temporarily removed of credentials. It was not my intention to mislead anyone. I am completing 10 hours at the humane society, meeting with a trainer, and taking a final exam to complete my program at Animal Behavior College.

Service letters were sent out to local vets and other dog related businesses.  While there is no law requiring credentials for dog training, I can assure you my knowledge, service and conduct is professional and in accordance with the pet industry.

I maintain a business license with the city of Chico, a valid merchant account, and pay taxes.

Credentials will be reposted in very soon.

Dew claws, 1st pick female
Tomorrow the puppies are having their dew claws removed.  So far their temperatures and weights are still healthy and they are all growing as they should.  Zeena has been an excellent mother throughout the process.

I have decided not to keep the first pick female at this time, therefore she is now available.  I have a feeling she's going to be the most calm and most beautiful in the bunch.

A tiring two days
It's been a joyful yet tiring two days since the puppies have been born.

There have been no obvious health concerns.  Their weights and temperatures have been monitored around the clock.  Everything normal.

I will be posting a picture to identify each one and tell about their interactions.  I'm working on editing some video to add to the multimedia section.

So far, the first born is really good at alerting.  We've nicknamed him Siren.  Perhaps they'll have a suggested name.  At least, I will be tracking and thoroughly evaluate their personalities.

First pick male is already standing out in size and proportion to the others.  Expect individual photos by the end of week 4.  Visits may be allowed to view but not handle at week 5.
